Get Involved!

Our team of leaders is made up of parents and people in the community who feel it is important to support our youth. All leaders have undertaken leadership training with the Scout Association and have current Working with Children Permits.

Leadership is everyone’s responsibility. Each adult connected with our Group has the opportunity to network in the community to recruit leaders for our Sections. The more leaders we have, the lighter the load. Interested adults do not need to have prior scouting experience – just an enjoyment of working with young people and the outdoors and willingness to have a police check. The Group pays for training, uniforms and membership for all leaders. There is also a fee discount offered to children of Section leaders.

Being a Leader is a great way of enjoying Scouting with your children!

If you would like to volunteer as a Section leader/assistant leader or have any questions about the Lynden Park Scout Group, please use the form on our contacts page to get in touch.

Parent Involvement

Lynden Park parents get involved!

We are very proud of our family involvement. Parent support is essential for the long-term survival of the Group. Each year, a Parent Committee of around 8-10 members is formed. This Committee assists with supporting our leaders, maintaining our property and fundraising. It is the responsibility of ALL parents to support the Group and you are most welcome to join the Committee at any time.

Parents are asked to assist with hall cleaning, working bees and fundraising. Each Section leader may also request support from parents with assistance at weekly activities, camps and transportation. The Group also holds a number of activities in which all family members from all Sections are invited to participate.

If you would like to be involved in the Parent Committee or have any questions about parent participation, please complete the form on our contacts page.
